Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from California! We had our Christmas dinner yesterday, so we came down to San Diego for the afternoon. Christmas music was playing, lights were shining, and families were enjoying the Bay. I hope everyone is spending time with those you care hold dear.

Truths for Mature Humans

I thought this was pretty humorous and I know a majority of these items have crossed my mind....How about you?

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!

L.A., I'm ready for you.

Tomorrow morning I am catching a flight to L.A. to see family.  I haven't been out to California in three years, so to say that I'm excited is a tad bit of an understatement.  I doubt I will look half as chic as the girl above though.  Are you traveling anywhere for the holidays?

Gift Guide: Books

I will admit I've been a bad blogger this month.  It is December and I have only written two posts, neither of which are about Christmas.  No gift guides, no holiday pictures, no tree trimmings...nothing.  Starting today, I will do better.  To kick off my holiday spirit, I've put together a gift guide of books that are calling my name.

Any books on your wish list this Christmas?

Music: Lonely Boy

I was with the boyfriend this weekend when he mentioned a new song he liked......Lonely Boy by The Black Keys.  Loving this song and the video cracks me up.  Hope you enjoy!

THE Wallpaper - Part 2

So, I mentioned here and here about my obsession for this wallpaper that is so pretty I just can't let it go.  In my last post about said wallpaper, I discovered that the gorgeous, I-need-to-have wallpaper that I am lusting over costs $275 a roll.  Even though my kitchen (which is where I want to put this) isn't that big, I just can't spend that much money on one roll....

Lucky for me, I don't have to.  All the stars have some how aligned and there is a stencil out there with a similar enough pattern that I am grinning ear-to-ear as I type this post.  It is amazing!!  See stencil here, which is offered by Olive Leaf Stencils.  Olive Leaf, I think you just might have completed me.  Also, Mom please note the stencil is $39.95.  Yes, that's right, it is on my Christmas list.  :-)

Original picture where I fell in love.

My soon-to-be stencil pattern, where I will reverse the colors and be oh-so-happy!

THE Wallpaper

So I was (electronically, of course) flipping through the new Lonny, when I saw this page.

Do you know what caught my eye?  Let's try it again.

I LOVE this wallpaper!  I mentioned it here and here, but could never find the manufacturer.  Of course, it is going to be Farrow and Ball.  It is fabulous and I want it....but it is $275 a roll.  Guess I'll put this on the wish list.  Isn't it so pretty?  Anything that caught your eye and you still think about it months later?

Chevron and Shine!

This morning I was on Lonny's blog and I saw this number....It caught my eye and has been on my mind ever since.
How cute is it?  AND it is reversible!!  Chevron and shine?!  I couldn't not share this gem.

This cute, little clutch is from Hammocks and High Tea.  Maybe I've been out of the loop, but I have never heard of this company.  I did some reading and I like their style....the "hand crafted collection uses eco friendly fibers and water based, solvent free inks....That eco can be bold as well as beautiful. And coming home is the best feeling in the world."  Check them out!
Happy hump day, loves!

Helloooooo, Blue Door Boutique.

I was hanging out with friends this weekend when one of them mentioned The Blue Door Boutique on facebook.  I hardly ever get on fb anymore, so I had no idea what she was talking about....

I think this just became my new obsession.  I've checked fb 5 times today just to see if BD has added anything fabulous that I just have to have.  From what I have seen, all the clothes are priced extremely reasonable.  A few items have topped out at $200, but the majority of the clothes are under a $100.  I was going to order a shirt and dress from the website yesterday, but they were sold out.  See below for my favorites thus far.

I'm loving the bright colors of this shirt!

Royal Blue Dress - $54.00
This dress is adorable and it would have been mine if they had it in a small!

Take a look at their website.  See anything you love?

LOVE it.

A gorgeous picture.....that makes me want to find a big, fluffy skirt to wear around the house.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Riding Boots

Fall is here (actually it has been here for a while now), and I have been coveting a pair of riding boots.  I have yet to buy some, but it is only a matter of time.  Take a look at my top 5 pairs (all found on piperlime).

FRYE Melissa Button - $348.00

INDIGO BY CLARKS Lesile Sharon - $200.00

MIA Xiomara - $99.00
So this aren't exactly riding boots, but I like 'em.

LUCKY BRAND Andria - $199.00

And these are my favorite, but they are a little out of my price range....oh so pretty.

FRYE Paige Tall Riding - $348.00

Do you have any riding boots that are calling your name?

Halloween Decorating

As everyone knows, Halloween is right around the corner.  I have to admit that I've never really been a big fan of Halloween, but I feel like I should at least acknowledge it.  Especially since there are some people who countdown for the only holiday where people dress up in costumes, carve pumpkins, go to haunted houses, and its soul purpose is just to be scary.

I didn't even buy a pumpkin to carve this year, but in the spirit of those who love some good Halloween decorations I've put together a few pictures that might inspire me next year.

The backdrop for a perfect Halloween vignette.

Pumpkins in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors....with friendly faces to boot!

Black and white with just a touch of orange.  Just my style.

Liking the "tree" with orange treats hanging from it.....the bats aren't bad either.

Heart this.

Gold pumpkins?  Definitely going to have some next year.

Nice little drink and sweets table for a Halloween party.

Candy bar?  Why not?

How cute is this idea?

Simple and understated.  That's all me.

I don't know what this dessert is, but it looks pretty delicious.  And it is cute, without being too cutesy.  Ya know what I mean?

Craigslist Round-Up

I think it is time to do another craigslist round-up!  I know you are excited as I am!

Two of these chairs are available, and at $75 each, it isn't a terrible price.

The retro lamps are priced well at $80 for the set.  If you aren't digging the lime green, you can always break out the spray paint.

This British Colonial Settee would be an extremely cute entry way bench, and it is priced right at $125!

This 3x7 rug is a little pricey for craigslist but I'm a fan.

I am seriously heart-ing this piece!  It would be a great bar in the corner of the living room.

How cute is this tuffed leopard ottoman?!

I could easily see all these pieces incorporated into a house featured in Lonny.  What do you think?
